Our Work

At PAILab, we strive to develop data-driven tools for personalized psychological assessment and intervention, focusing on real-world data and advanced modeling to improve precision in mental health care.

01

Just-in-Time Personalized Intervention for Repetitive Negative Thinking

We use real-time self-reports and daily-life data to predict when people are at risk of rumination and worry. Next, we test digital interventions delivered exactly in those moments.

02

Ecological Tracking in Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDDs)

We are developing the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Ecological Tracker (N-DET), a caregiver-report tool that monitors daily changes in autism and rare genetic conditions.

03

Towards a Science of Moments

We study moment-to-moment experiences using real-time surveys and computational tools, identifying recurring “archetypal states” across individuals.

04

Predicting Internalizing Symptoms in Adolescents Daily Life

We develop personalized models that forecast adolescent symptoms an hour ahead using surveys and wearable data. In future work, these models will power just-in-time adaptive interventions.

05

Predicting PTSD Symptoms in Daily Life

We develop person-specific models that forecast short-term occurrences of PTSD symptoms (e.g., re-experiencing, physical arousal, avoidance).

06

ARID1B-RD Natural History Study

We follow 120 children and teens with ARID1B-related disorder across 2.5 years and seven sites worldwide, to better understand how this condition changes over time.
